    As an adult, I have never loved cats…I have always considered myself to be a “dog person“….and even that is subject to the particular dog.  We own a Great Pyrenees who is invaluable to us as a farm dog.  Pete protects our livestock and keeps predators at a respectable distance.

  • Run Chicken Run!

    I strolled out to the Marans house this morning. Molting season has arrived at the farm.  My weary dark egg layers are the first to relinquish their daily duties. Upon entering their house, the girls gave me the "No eggs for YOU!" look (chickens are masters at dirty looks when they are annoyed). I just smiled and talked to them.
